Well, I did the all of the usual things, like growing up and attending school, finishing at secretarial college, which I hated, then spent the next several years wandering aimlessly from job to job. I know it isn’t a great average when compared with some authors but it sounds pretty good to me! Thankfully there are people fighting the system but except a few dents they will never break down that wall of corruption. ![]() The whole system there is rotten to the bone, too much money is going from hand to hand, from rich to richer, and it's not the common people that will change anything about that. Without spoiling anything you secretly hope those big pharmaceutical companies will get stopped but the reality like we all know by now is that they're untouchable and that's only the fault of a corrupt American system, like the FDA, the CDC, and many judges. That said Dopesick is a quality show, very well made, with tons of very good actors, and a story that keeps you wanting for more. This show is based on a non-fictional book, but the characters are most of the time fictional. It's the cancer under the opioids, easy to get and extremely addictive. ![]() Although Dopesick isn't entirely non-fictional everybody knows by now what devastating ravages Oxycontin did in the daily lives of millions of Americans. ![]() ![]() I’ve come across this often enough to be suspicious of twin stories that have any kind of romance theme. If a man likes a female twin, well then, something scandalous usually happens where the man goes after the OTHER female twin. I feel like characters in books treat twins as interchangeable. ![]() I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a huge fan of twin stories. But eventually they start to actually talk and grow closer. At first, the two bicker and do everything in their power to spend as little time in each other’s company as possible. So instead, Olive and Ethan, who resemble their siblings, go in their stead so that the honeymoon won’t be wasted. ![]() ![]() Olive’s twin sister, Ami, recently got married to Ethan’s brother, Dane, but because they ate from the buffet and got explosively ill, they couldn’t go on their own honeymoon to Maui. “The Unhoneymooners” follows Olive and Ethan, who really despise each other. When I saw there was another book on NetGalley by this duo, I immediately requested a copy because they haven’t disappointed me yet! All the books are very distinct, with loveable characters and believable dynamics. ![]() Great romance, absolutely hilarious and witty dialogue, and smooth, flowing stories that unfold at a nice pace.
